How do I increase exposure for my Ad?
To increase exposure for your Ad, we recommend the following actions:
- Be sure to include key words in the Title of your Ad. Something that potential customers would search for in Google or other search engines. For example, if I'm posting an Ad for a used Toyota Camry, I would make sure to have the key words "Used Toyota Camry" in my Ad Title.
- Look into some of the the Benefits to Advertised Classifieds Listings, this will help increase your Ad's visibility tremendously.

Placing and Editing Ads
How do I Post a Free Ad?
You first need to be Logged in to post your Ad. After logging in, click on the "Post Your Ad" link in the Classifieds section. Select a City in which you would like to post your Ad. Select the Category & Sub Category of your choice. Click on the Radio Button that says "Free Ad" to post a Free Ad. Enter the Ad content in the appropriate fields. Then click on "Post Your Ad." You will receive a confirmation message after your Ad is posted.

How long does my Free Ad stay online?
Normally, the expiration date for Free Ads is 1 month. But you can keep your Free Ads up for as long as you like. If you wish to renew your Ad before its 1 month expiration or if you wish to remove your Ad from the listings, log on to My Classifieds and renew or disable your Free Ad here. Please note that you must renew your Ad before its 1 month expiration, otherwise, you will have to re-submit the Ad all over again.

How many Free Ads can I post?
You can post up to as many Free Ads as you wish. Just as long as you do not violate any of our Terms & Conditions and do not post up any false or harmful Ads.

How do I make changes to my Ad?
After logging in, go to My Classifieds and select the Ad you want to edit and click "Edit."

How do I add a picture to my Ad?
After logging in, go to My Classifieds and select the Ad you want to add a picture for and click "Edit." You will see an area on the Ad Post page that asks you to "Upload Photo" or "Change Photo" - please click on that and just follow the instructions. The maximum file size for the photo is 75Kb.

How long will it take for my Ad to appear online?
Your Ad will appear online within a few minutes after posting. If it does not appear after 1 hour of you posting it, please contact us and let us know by clicking here.

Where do I find my Ad online?
You can find your Ad online by going to http://www.desiclub.com/classifieds/searchbyid.cfm and entering your Ad ID or going to the http://www.desiclub.com/classifieds/classifieds.cfm page and typing in a Key word in the Search bar and Selecting the City, Category & Sub-Category in which you have listed the Ad and just hitting "Search Ads" to locate your Ad online.

How do I post a Paid Ad?
Post an Ad like you normally would (see above), but instead of selecting a "Free Ad," select one of our Paid Ad services. Then fill in all the relevant information and select "Post Your Ad & Pay Online" and enter your complete payment details and you will receive a confirmation.

How do I pay for my Ad?
We accept all Major Credit Cards. All transactions take place on our Secure Server. At present we do not accept Checks/Money Orders. You will receive an automated Order Receipt for the orders placed in Desiclub Classifieds.

How do I Upgrade my Free Ad to Paid Ad?
To Upgrade your Free Ad. Log in and go to My Classifieds. Then select the Ad you want to Upgrade and click on the "Renew/Upgrade" button and then choose the Paid Ad service you want to Upgrade to. Then just choose "Renew/Upgrade Your Ad" and enter all of your payment details and you will receive a confirmation.

Is there a possibility that my Ad can be blocked at any time?
Yes, any Ads that display inappropriate or false information or Ads that are continuously repeated will be blocked.

What is a Business Ad & what is an Individual Ad?
Individual Ads are those that do not have a commercial value. Business Ads have a commercial value as you are trying to sell your product or service to numerous buyers or subscribers. If you're advertising a Business service, please contact us and learn how we can help you get better results.

How does a Paid Ad work and are there refunds?
Your credit card will be charged the amount indicated on your service purchase page and in your order details. You are agreeing to pay this amount in full. There are no refunds for any service purchases.
Your Ad will remain up until it expires at 12AM Midnight PST at the expiration period noted on your receipt at the time of purchase. The service you purchase for your classified Ad and your Ad will remain visible prior to their expiration as long you maintain them in good standing. A good standing Classified Ad is defined as follows:
- All payments associated with your Classified Ad purchase have been fulfilled.
- You are not misrepresenting any information in your Ad.
- You do not abuse or misuse the Classified Ad service by having duplicate Ads or misleading information, as outlined above.
- Any such illegal or questionable activity will cause the immediate termination and deletion of your Ad and account.

General Questions
I am unable to login to My Classifieds?
You must be logged in to access your "My Classifieds" section, which allows you to manage and submit your Ads. You must have cookies enabled in your browser to be able to login and use your "My Classifieds" section. If you're still having trouble accessing your My Classifieds section please contact us.

I cannot see my Ad in My Classifieds?
Please ensure that you have actually posted an Ad. This page only shows the Ads that you have successfully submitted. If your Ad was Free, you may have accidently Disabled the Ad using the Disable functionality. In this case, you can view and edit it by going to the Disabled Ads area. If after assuring these previous statements not be true your Ad is still not appearing, please contact us.

How do I Remove/Delete my Ad?
Log on to My Classifieds and Select the Ad you want to remove/delete and click on the Disable button. If its a Free Ad, it will automatically be deleted after its expiration period is over. If its a Paid Ad, it will remain Disabled and "removed" from the website until you Enable it again.

How do I respond to an Ad?
Click on any Ad you want to respond to and enter the details of your response and click Send/Submit.

How do I View Responses to my Ad?
You will be emailed any responses to your Ads, so please be sure to provide an accurate email address and be sure to mark emails from classifieds@desiclub.com as Non-Junk and Non-Spam. You can view the number of responses to your Ads by logging onto My Classifieds.

How do I check the Ad Performance of my Ad?
Log in and go to My Classifieds, Select the Ad whose Performance you want to view and click on the "Performance Report" button. You can view the number of responses and the number of times your Ad has been forwarded, among other useful information.

What does "Save this Ad in My Favorites" mean?
You can click on "Save this Ad to My Favorites" for future retrieval. This basically saves the specific Ad in your "My Favorites" section of your Desiclub Classifieds account. To access and manage all your Favorite Ads, simply log in go to (http://www.desiclub.com/classifieds/adfavorites.cfm).

What is "Forward to Friend"?
"Forward to Friend" lets you send informative Ads to your friends. Just enter a valid email address to the person(s) you want to send the Ad to. If you want to send to more than one person, just separate the email addresses by a comma and hit Send/Submit.

What is "My Alerts"?
This feature creates a search agent that will notify you via email of any new Ads listed that match your search criteria. For example, an alert for keywords "roommate in New York" will get you a daily email of Ads that contain the word "New York roommate." To set an alert, just log in and go to http://www.desiclub.com/classifieds/alert.cfm. You can manage your Alerts by going to http://www.desiclub.com/classifieds/alert_manage.cfm, where you can view, edit and unsubscribe from Alerts.

What is "Flagging"?
With flagging an Ad you can indicate that:
- The Ad is spam
- The Ad is selling or offering illegal items
- The Ad appears to be fake
- The Ad is using inappropriate language
- The Ad is in the wrong category
If you see an Ad that fits into any of the above categories, just click on the link labelled "Flag as Spam / Inappropriate." Ads that are flagged are reviewed carefully and if infact they fit into any of the above categories, will be suspended from the site.

What is "RSS?"
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a popular technology employed by websites and weblogs to push content directly to users. Also known as web feeds, it saves the user from having to making daily trips to numerous websites for fresh content that is of interest to him/her.
How can you use RSS feeds?
In most Web browsers, clicking on an RSS feed will simply give you a screen full of code called XML. To make sense of it, you'll need to follow either of these two options:
Option 1: RSS News Readers
Here's a few programs you can download and install to manage Desiclub.com/classifieds and other RSS feeds. Please note that Desiclub.com is not responsible for the content of external websites.

To add Desiclub.com/classifieds, drag the URL link of the RSS feed into your news reader or try cutting and pasting the same URL link into a feed in your news reader. You can customize how much or how little of each feed you will see, as well as how often your feed updates.
Option 2: RSS Web Sites
There are a number of Web sites like My Yahoo, My MSN, My Gmail, which can collect and display RSS feeds for you without having to download and configure any new software on your computer. You can customize how much or how little of each feed you will see, as well as how often your feed updates. Please note that some services such as My Yahoo, limit how often feeds will update. See the help pages of your service provider for more information.

Scam Alerts
Please read about some recent scam attempts on the World Wide Web.
1. Work from Home Scams
These kind of Ads are very common online. You may also find them to be very appealing, when you are really on the look out for a job or unable to work outside. Such Ads do not actually specify the amount of work in hours that you may have to do or don't disclose all the costs that you will have to bear to acquire the job. Most of these work from home plans, need you to spend your own money to get the supplies or equipment to do the actual job. You may also end up paying for instructions or "tutorial" software. Beware of such Ads. Genuine work from home programs tell you in writing about what's involved in the program they are selling. You may want to ask a few questions: What tasks will I have to perform? (Ask the program sponsor to list every step of the job.) Will I be paid a salary or will my pay be based on commission? When will I get my first paycheck? What is the total cost of the "work from home" program, including supplies, equipment and membership fees? What will I get for my money? And best of all, just use your common sense to tell the scams apart from the real thing.
2. Health and Diet Scams
You may find Ads online about pills that let you lose weight without exercising or changing your diet, herbal formulas that liquify your fat cells so that they are absorbed by your body, cures for impotence and hair loss. There are many health related scams to be aware of. The fact of the matter is that successful weight loss requires a reduction in calories and an increase in physical activity. Do not go by case histories from "cured" consumers claiming amazing results; testimonials from "famous" medical experts you've never heard of; claims that the product is available from only one source or for a limited time; and Ads that use phrases like "scientific breakthrough," "miraculous cure," "exclusive product," "secret formula," and "ancient ingredient." And once again, use your common sense to tell the scams apart from the real thing.
