The original Indian reggae maestro, Apache Indian, returns with a banging new single 'Global Talk', released in the UK on his very own independent label, Sunset Records. The mass appeal track's taken from his forthcoming album 'Get Loose' and brings together some international sounds blended perfectly with inimitable Apache ragga-styling, creating a truly amazing tune.
The album's been nearly 2 years in the making and has taken Apache on a serious worldwide trek. India, Africa, America, Canada and numerous European trips were endured on his mission to create authentic global melodies. Currently, Global Talk is getting some major airplay across the States and in Jamaica.
Working closely with the legendary reggae producer Handel Tucker, Apache makes no bones about his latest production: "It's a great track. Working with Handel was a fantastic experience. I've worked with dozens of people but you know when you're working with Handel, you feel the vibe, it comes from his heart first and then his head. I think the finished product speaks for itself."
Handel Tucker's previously worked with many reggae greats including Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Diana King and the fantastic Sly & Robbie. He also had a No 1 hit in the U.S. with Maxi Priest.
Other producers on the album include veterans Simon & Diamond and the hugely talented Charlie Brown, a newcomer to the Karmasound Productions camp. Originally a hip-hop/RnB man, Charlie brings a fresh new style to the party.
Things are looking great for the raggamuffin. A new album here, a string of concerts and performances lined up and now Universal Records have just announced the India release of 'The Best of Apache Indian' featuring many classic collaborations with Asha Bhosle, Tim Dog, AR Rehman and Malkit Singh.
Apache can be seen live this summer at a number of events. In the UK
Bradford Mela, GLA Mela, Manchester Mela and the Respect Festival amongst others and in the USA
the Dharma Conference, Midsummer Masala Festival at Six Flags Great Adventure and the 12th Annual Network of Indian Professionals (NetIP) National Conference to be held in Philadelphia in late August.
Some final words from the big man sums it all up: "There's too much tension in the world today. Here's a global message... It's time to get together and to get loose"!
