Its that time of the year when the sun comes out, temperatures start soaring and everybody peels off and heads to the beach, well you head to the MOVIEBOX record label to bag a record deal if you are a bhangra superstar.

PANJABI MC and AS KANG have both signed up with the UK's No.1 record company, PMC will release "Switchin", a bhangra album fused with garage on the label and if this collaboration with the label is successful he will also release "Steel Bangle" through it. And golden oldie KANG has left the Roma/Envy label to create something special with the Moviebox team; he is currently working hard on his album and states that his new releases with the label will still retain his special desi sound.

The ANAKHI lads have just completed a new album titled "2nd Naicha", one of the tracks in the album will feature Nicie Louise, a new English vocalist.

SARBJIT CHEEMA, the popular Punjabi star has just released his new album titled "0172 Shaher Di Kudi" on the Moviebox label, this is his first album which has been officially released in the UK.

B21 have completed their new album and word is that it will be out in June and it will contain 6 tracks, "Darshan", "Jawani" and "Heer Ranjha" are the titles of three of the tracks. The music for the album will mainly be modern/Western and two of the tracks will be on a desi vibe.

DEEPAK KHAZANCHI, the man responsible for the "Bhangra Fever" series of albums in the 80's and the man behind the success of bands like Alaap, Heera, Kalapreet and Holle Holle is back on the bhangra scene. He has partnered up with his old mate Pete Ware to offer the public a new compilation album titled "Regeneration" which features the likes of Kuldip Manak, Gurdas Mann, AS Kang, Heera, Asa Singh Mastana, Mohd Rafi, Chamkilla, etc.

LL COOL SINGH's next album is definitely "Phenomenon" and will be released on the Metro label, he states that he has nothing to do with the heavily advertised "Tradionalized" album, which bears his name on the cover.

THE JACKEL & RAY C have completed their debut album titled "The 4th Dimension", it features 4 tracks by the likes of Hans Raj Hans, Ranjit Mani, Sameera, Moviebox's very own Priya Nigher who debuted on the awesome "Face Value" release and Ray C will provide a Special Mix. The album is available on the Moviebox label and is out now.
