It's been the year of leaks from productions' highly anticipated movies, and the biggest leak of the year has been, unarguably, the song "Chammak Challo" from Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming mega-budget sci-fi flick Ra.One. In the unlikely event that you do not know, Ra.One stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Arjun Rampal as the main roles, with Arjun being Ra.One and Shah Rukh being superhero G.One.
The song has brought famed R & B artist Akon to Bollywood to work with music directors Vishal-Shekhar for the most expensive Bollywood production to date. "Chammak Challo" has recently been projected to be the song of the year (it cannot already be called that as it is not officially released!)! On Friday, the official 16-second teaser of the song was released, showing Kareena in desi-wear, donning a bright red lehenga choli, sparkling earrings, nose ring and bindi. However, considering the hype around this movie and, especially, the song, the teaser has entered airwaves a little late!
As the demand for more on "Chammak Challo" increased after the leak, one "Chammak Challo" remix stood out and garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube in less than a month! Three University of California, Berkeley, students have remixed "Chammak Challo" and fused it with other popular tracks to create a fun and highly enjoyable song.
Sanjoy Deb, Kunal Agarwal, and Amar Jeer are the team behind this remix, which is already on MTV Desi's radar. The video has been shot by Kunal, while Sanjoy--a recognized DJ in the Bay Area--worked on the track. UC Berkeley's dance teams Zahanat and Azaad also feature in the video.
