December 20th, 2007 - New York, NY - Desiclub.com announced today the release of its 2nd annual Desiclub.com Swimsuit Calendar for 2008, showcasing 12 beautiful South Asian models from North America. With its inaugural 2007 calendar making waves across the globe due to the groundbreaking project, the just released 2008 calendar promises to make the hearts of men (and women) in every echelon beat a little faster. The calendar is the very first of its kind, showcasing North American models of Indian, Pakistani and West Indian descent. Outside of India itself, there is no one in the world showcasing beautiful South Asian women on such a grand scale, and for 2008, the project has matured to a whole new level...

The entire Desiclub.com crew spent the early weeks of August on America's trendiest beaches shooting in the exclusive Hamptons area of Long Island, New York. With exclusive access to private beaches, the production team was able to get photography and ground breaking video in breathtaking landscapes, with beautiful models that promise to change the way the world views South Asian women. With haunting sunrises, gorgeous grass dunes, and white sands, the intrigue surrounding the Hamptons will be revealed through the 2008 Calendar.

Never before has this kind of access been granted by the incorporated villages of the Hamptons on America's most exclusive island. After charming America's elite, the rest of the world will now experience Style, Sex appeal, and South Asian culture come together for a fun and exciting project.

The 2008 Desiclub.com Swimsuit Calendar features 12 of the most talented, intelligent, sexiest models to grace the lens. Desiclub.com put up all of the models, including the entire crew in a beach house and recorded all the fun and drama to be unveiled for the world to watch. The entire photography and video of the models was filmed in HD and the footage will be released in intervals showcasing individual model videos, a look behind the scenes and culminating to feature a 23-minute reality TV show special centered around the beach house and the numerous Hamptons locations used as the backdrop of the production. The hundreds of pictures and exclusive videos will be made available through Desiclub.com/calendar.

"The most difficult aspect this year was choosing the front cover as we had so many amazing photos to choose from," said Saroosh Gull, producer and publisher of the calendar. Ultimately, the honor of being the "cover girl" for the 2008 calendar went to none other than Miss India America Melanie Kannokada who combines the perfect blend of stunning beauty, talent, and artistic quality. The Stanford educated beauty is a versatile dancer, pianist, and a former karate kicking champion. Saroosh Gull went on to add, "Melanie was chosen not only for her breathtaking beauty, but because she represents a great message and is an ideal role model." Indeed she is, not only has she accomplished so much in her young years, she has also acquired the interest of Bollywood's renowned filmmakers after winning the Miss India America title and subsequently having hours of exposure on numerous South Asian networks in the US. Not to be out-done, some of the other models in the calendar include an up and coming architect (Bhumika Vyas), a 4.0 GPA college student (Bansari Shah) and a programmer (Pamela Soggu).

The models for 2008 also include Rakhee Gandhi, Mehr Kareema, Meena Kumari, Megha Lathigara, Purvi Panwala, Ragini Patel, Sabrina Ramcharan and Sterie Varghese.
