British Asian Model and Actress Aruna Shields took time out from her hectic schedule to discuss her career and her TV sex scenes on the documentry 'A Very British Bollywood' (BBC2 (UK). The programme looked at the light hearted and humorous approach used by some Bollywood film-makers. 'Private Moments', an erotic comedy that revolved around the sex lives of four young women, with Luke Goss (ex Bros singer) and Aruna Shields, amongst others.

She's been a dream girl in "Ali G Indahouse" and done countless film and TV work, commercials, print and videos. Talk about a busy bombshell!

How did you get involved in the world of modeling?
Years ago I was on the tube sitting opposite a photographer who gave me his card and said he wanted to use me for a Matrix style shoot. After checking out his credentials I did it, the pictures were published and were wicked. It was great fun.

What are you doing at the moment?
I'm casting for film and TV work. 'Private Moments' was fun. I am always modeling, dancing at special events and shows, when I've got days off I'm at the 'Actors Centre' in London where we perform plays. I have modeled for so many brands, Radox, Gillette, Hot Diamonds, Lee Cooper, etc the list goes on...

What's your favourite... modeling, photography, or dance?
Has to be acting, especially the stage work which gives me a buzz because the contact with the audience is so immediate. It's live, there's no second take, you have to be perfect every time.

As a Brit Asian did you face any challenges to get into the industry?
I have been cast as Mexican, Brazilian, Spanish, Italian and Mixed race... which is what I am, half Scottish, half Indian. The world is so multicultural, and I think it works in my favour. The industry is hard no matter where you come from.

So what's a typical day like?
It's difficult to plan ahead because I get booked to do so many different things. No day is the same, that's what I love about it.

You're a bit of a snake charmer, what's all that about?
I love all animals, they are beautiful. Whether it's a puppy or a python. Dancing with snakes is interesting... sometimes I get squashed.

Prized possession in your wardrobe?
One off D&G boots, they look like socks and shoes but they are actually boots, I've had people stop me on the street and want to buy them off me. (laughs)

We hear you're quite a sporty person?
Living in London means no horse riding or scuba diving... so I rollerblade, in the summer I go everywhere on wheels.

Favourite place you have been working at?
That's a difficult one, Egypt shooting next to the pyramids.

Favourite gear for relaxing?
Thick socks.

Favourite music?
Coldplay, house and garage dance music.
