NEW YORK, May 20th, 2005 - The buzz is bouncing off walls everywhere. During the Press Conference held at the beautiful and stunning Dream Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, the nation's most reputable media organizations were all witness to history in the making. ImaginAsian, American Desi, ITV, MTV, VDesi, AVS, India Abroad, Indian Express, South Asian Outlook and South Asian Insider were all greeted by the organizers of the inaugural DesiClub.com South Asian Media Awards. Saroosh Gull, Founder and CEO of DesiClub.com and Aash Shravah Founder and CEO of INTENSE discussed the nomination committee, nominees, performers and the entire process of the awards ceremony. The event, taking place on Saturday June 4th 2005 at the Miller Theater in New York City, is promising to be a red carpet, star-studded affair.

Members of the respected nomination committee, nominees and performers discussed the event and its impact to the South Asian community in North America. International Singing Sensation Raghav, Fashion Designer Anand Jon, RnB Singer Sumeet, Director Manan Singh Katohara and BoxOfficeGuru's Gitesh Pandya were all present to give their insight and involvement in the ceremony. Setting out to honor South Asians in North America, The DesiClub.com South Asian Media Awards will acknowledge individuals in twenty categories, with a nominee list totaling about 90 individuals and organizations. With great interest from the community and various entertainment arenas, many questions were answered and it was made apparent that the existence for such an awards ceremony had long been lacking.

DesiClub.com's Saroosh Gull was quoted as saying; "We have put together the most respected and reputable individuals, who will undoubtedly leave a huge imprint in the history books. Our committee, our nominees and our performers all represent the cream of the crop from our community and in showcasing everyone from this stature, our event will raise the bar in so many ways. At the Press Conference, the performers for the Awards Show were also announced and they include America's biggest Bhangra singer Bikram Singh, the mega hot Canadian-born RnB singer Sumeet, Detroit's Hip Hop kingpin Kidd Skilly and the sultry voice of Tina Sugandh, all set to grace the world stage on June 4th.
