Lately, Ranveer Singh has been in the news for all the wrong reasons including making fun of Salman Khan and embarrassing a couple of his seniors in the industry. But, as he signs his third project to be made under the Yash Raj Banner, we hope the prankster gets his name back into the headlines for wooing the audiences with his charm and his acting skills.
As for Arjun Kapoor, the boy seems to have made his mark right from his first movie 'Ishqzaade'. He has recently signed his second with the same banner to be titled, 'Aurangzeb'. What is interesting with respect to Arjun is that the actor has succeeded in staying away from all negative publicity so far. So, the Kapoor lad definitely seems to have scored higher than his co-star Ranveer, in Yash Raj Film's next release 'Gundey'.
'Gundey', it is being said, is a story of two friends itched in the 70's and the 80's in the city of Kolkata. It talks of various flavors of life including friendship, mafia, rivalry and of course the most wonderful of all - Love - as both the male lead characters in the movie fall in love with the same girl.
According to a press release issued by Yash Raj Films, "Amidst the most turbulent times in the history of Kolkata, then Calcutta, from 1971 to 1988, Bikram and Bala rose from being small time wagon breakers and coal thieves to becoming the biggest and most powerful black market mafia men."
"A rare combination of vigour and wit, the duo were inseparable and the city of Calcutta swore by their friendship, as their notoriety became the stuff of legends. The people of this sprawling city started calling these two carefree rebels--'Gunday'," it added.
Although the filmmakers have still not been able to zero in on the actress to be cast in the female lead role it is certain that almost all big names from tinseltown will be vying for the role.
Recently when the YRFs released the first look of 'Gundey' both Ranveer and Arjun were seen sorting a raw look, obviously in order to justify their character and title of the forthcoming release.
'Gundey' is being directed by Ali Zafar of 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' fame and will go on the floor sometime in December of this year.
