There was a time when Kareena used to be an indispensible part of Karan Johar's movies, but then followed a period of lull where KJo deliberately avoided giving her roles in his movies. His decision to keep Kareena out was purely based on his logic of avoiding unwanted publicity due to the latter's habit of reacting to media in a direct and often blunt manner.
Although the duo shares an amazing friendship today and Bebo has learned to be nicer to media, she still has not been able to find a place for herself in Kjo's movies - until recently. Well, the movie maker has decided to cast the beautiful lady opposite none other than Hrithik Roshan in his next, still untitled movie.
A source close to Kareena informs, "Kareena is Karan Johar's 3am friend. She constantly takes his advice for her film projects. Every Dharma movie that Kareena has done has taken her career a few notches further. When she was told about Malhotra's script, she immediately agreed as she completely trusts KJo and treats him as a brother."
But one thing that we are still not sure of is whether KJo is talking about casting her in his version of 'The Immortals of Meluha' or a different movie altogether. For, it is for 'The Immortals of Meluha' that Karan had proposed Hrithik's name for the lead to play the character of Shiva, while names were still being considered for the role of Sati.
The source further added, "The script is new. It is not based on the Immortals of Meluha. This will be one of the biggest projects for KJo next year, and he is looking forward to it. A big announcement is expected soon."
So, that does pretty much put an end to all confusion with respect to Amish Tripathi's adaptation on the celluloid. And considering the fact that Vidya Balan was being considered for the role, her role remains safe too.
Indeed, Hrithik-Kareena's sizzling onscreen chemistry has wowed audiences in the past in films like Yaadein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. And it would be a treat for them to see both Kareena and Hrithik romancing on the silver screen once again.
