After buying the rights of the American series '24' Anil Kapoor was set to go all out for his show. He had roped in Abhay Deol to direct it and Rensil D'silva, Bhavani Iyer and Priya Pinto were to pen the script. But suddenly there seems to be lull with no news about the show whatsoever.

A source says, "He even invited original writer of '24', Patrick Harbinson to India for guiding his team of writers and incorporating essential changes. At the moment, Kapoor is busy beefing up his muscles to play Keifer Sutherland's character Jack Bauer and is likely to begin shooting by end of this year." Bhavani Iyer refused to comment on the reason behind the delay and said, "The project is definitely on. We are working on the script at the moment and it is a long process."

But, the latest buzz from tinseltown has it that the show has been delayed due to two reasons. The first, the makers of the show wanted the show to have a more Indian look and two, the channel with which Anil was in talks seems to have all of a sudden backed out citing that the content of the show is way too bold for Indian viewers.

Anil on the other hand is slugging it out for his show. The 50 year old has held numerous brainstorming sessions with the show's writers to come up with out of the box ideas and has also roped in some other big names from Bollywood to guest direct it. These Bollywood biggies include names like Rakesh Mehra, Apoorva Lakhia and Priyadarshan all of whom have been responsible for giving Bollywood some of the biggest hits to date.

These directors have been roped in inspite of Abhay Deol so as to ensure that there is more variety on the show. This happens to be a fairly common tactic of improving the show's content and making it more interesting.

Talking about Anil's never say die attitude a source close to the actor said, "At 50, Anil is beefing up his body for '24', but he isn't ignoring his film commitments either. He recently shot for 20 straight hours for an action scene in 'Shootout in Wadala' in punishing heat because they couldn't get an air conditioner to the location. Even though he gives his blood and sweat to his films; his heart belongs to '24'!"
