Kareena Kapoor seems to be the flavor of the month with many big films supposedly in her kitty. Recently, it was reported that Kareena had mended her fences with the Bachchans and was going to work alongside Amitabh Bachchan in Prakash Jha's much talked about film Satyagraha. However, Jha has now called the reports false, "I am busy with the dubbing and post-production of Chakravyuh right now. I have not even read the story," says Jha, who then goes on to add, "Who said Kareena is doing Satyagraha? Have I been quoted in the story? People just keep speculating. Let them do so. Until I go on record about it, please do not believe any such reports."
Jha's reports are now making everyone wonder if Kareena's publicists are working overtime to keep the actress in the news. An actress who does not want to be named says, "From her wedding reports to the promos of Heroine to Karan Johar's film, Kareena is in the news for every other thing these days. Everybody knew that Jha is keen on casting Katrina in Satyagraha, Kareena was never in the picture. However, this maybe her way to send feelers to Jha. She has done this in the past. However, this could also keep both Saif and her in the news and relevant."
Now one could dismiss this actress' comments as just another case of sour grapes but, there is proof that Kareena's PR machinery has been burning the midnight oil to keep the actress in the news. Off late, Kareena's name has been associated with multiple films, including Raajneeti 2, Punit Malhotra's next and Karan Johar's film adaptation of the book, The Immortals Of Meluha. Satyagraha is the fourth film that the actor has apparently taken on. However, out of the four films, only the makers of Punit's next, in which she is expected to star opposite Imran Khan, have confirmed the news. And with Jha contesting that he never approached Kareena for the role, looks like the cat is out of the bag!
Then a few weeks ago there were rumors that she had walked out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film, because it clashed with her wedding. However, then the news broke out that in fact Kareena was dropped from the film. Wonder, if the actress who is reportedly getting married to long-term boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in October this year, wants to tell producers that marriage will not stop her from working in films.
Regardless, Kareena should talk to her publicist whose over-enthusiasm is making Kareena seem like a joke these days.
