Preity Joins the Size Zero Debate
After Kareena Kapoor dissed Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha, Preity Zinta has now joined the debate on the skinny vs. curvy debate. Read on to find out what Preity has to say.

Preity Joins the Size Zero Debate

Recently, at the launch of Indian diet expert Pooja Makhija's book Eat Delete, Preity Zinta gave her two cents on the debate around fat vs. fit and curvy vs. size zero, which began after Kareena Kapoor declared that "all women want to be thin," "fat was not sexy" and "Sonakshi Sinha and Vidya Balan were not sexy".

"I think Vidya is a fabulous actor... What is wrong with her?" said Preity, who went on to add, "There is always a rule - it takes one to lead and rest to follow. The choice you have to make is whether you are a leader or a follower."

Speaking at the event Preity said, "If there is one size zero and if 10 people want to become size zero, it is a different thing. If one is a size 12 or 10, and people want to be size 10, then that is a different thing."

About the hype created around size zero, Preity said, "For normal people, it is very unfair to keep saying 'size zero is beautiful.' Being overweight is not good because it is bad for your health. However, there is no such thing that this is the only size."

Preity further added, "I feel really bad for the normal people because they are under so much pressure and keep getting wrong messages. 'If you eat this diet, you will look like this person,' which is really wrong, you cannot look like anyone else," Preity added. Kareena, are you listening!

Preity, who is presently busy with her first home production Ishqk in Paris took time to launch Makhija's book. Makhija has a huge following in Bollywood including Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Sushmita Sen among others.

"Pooja teaches you how to make food the real rockstar of your weight loss," says Ranbir about Makhija's diet plans. While Karan, who was once overweight, credits Makhija for helping him adopt a healthier lifestyle, "Pooja has changed the way I think about food for life. Everywhere I go, in all my travels, the resounding echo of Pooja's food instructions resonates on my plate... And if this sounds scary, do not worry - she is far too attractive to be afraid of," Karan asserts. While a former Miss India and Miss Universe Sushmita, said "One of the most important things I learned from Pooja is that eating is less about the way you look, it is more about the way you feel." While television and film producer Ekta who has recently lost a lot of weight said, "A healthy body leads to a healthy mind and that is what Pooja's diet has helped me achieve."
