Shahrukh Khan is not called King Khan for nothing. After delivering two hits last year, he has reaffirmed his position on top of the Bollywood throne. Kal Ho Naa Ho and Chalte Chalte have proved he is the best and now he has again proven he is the badshah after coming back from his back surgery. Now, Shahrukh will be seen in his next home production, which is Main Hoon Naa.

Rajesh Shah: Kal Ho Naa Ho is reaping awards for you. You have once again proved you are the best.
Shahrukh Khan: I don't know how successful I am. But I am happy to know people love me so much. I always have a good time making a movie and I put in my best. Right now I think it's the best time of my career. I am getting the best roles and best makers. I have lost money trying to make films, many producers haven't paid me but I never ask for the balance amount. I don't even hold it against them. I never acted for the money. Sometimes a price has to be put up for the work I do compared to the other artists. I have never quoted a price. As much as people like to believe the ridiculous amount offered to me I don't even get half of what is written in the papers. I wish I did, then I could stop acting. [laughs]

RS: Chalte Chalte was your first big success in production.
SRK: Making a film is tough business. There are lots of departments to look after but after 13 years and almost 50 films I feel I have seen enough hits and flops to make sense out of them. Your work matters the most. I think I have acted well in all of them but it's luck that some worked and others didn't. The films I produced Asoka, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and now Chalte Chalte were all good films. We felt sad when our films didn't do well and we felt happy when one did.

RS: Tell us about Farah Khan directing Main Hoon Naa?
SRK: Farah is amazing as a director. She has the right attitude for it. Farah wants Main Hoon Naa to be the best film in my career and I think the film has turned out quite well. Main Hoon Na is a fun film about today's youth and their choices. Suniel Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan, Amrita Rao have done remarkably well in the film. Sushmita Sen is looking just amazing in the film. It's a commercial film that will touch your heart.

RS: How is your back now?
SRK: Fine. It's ok and getting better. I have never hidden anything about my operation or the back injury. There will be times when I won't be able to do certain things, so I won't do them. Yes, it hurts at times and I just need to do certain exercises, physiotherapy and take it a little easy.

RS: When everyone is after glamour, do you consider yourself a misfit here?
GS: Yeah, sometimes. I'm not a party person, I like staying at home. Here, PR is a must but I can't do it all the time. In an industry where a lot depends upon being seen at the right time, at the right place, I'm very low profile. I am comfortable being myself. I give my best to my work; I don't have the drive to push myself beyond a certain limit. I'm not a go-getter but I have ambitions and I am getting where I want to be.
