Being single can be a true bliss for some women. You don’t have to worry about mundane things like reaching home in time. You aren’t really answerable to anyone. And best of all – you can flirt with any handsome guy you set your eyes on.

Besides, commitments and relationships cause endless woes to so many. Isn’t this statement true? So, why get yourself in the long list of miserable people due to failed relationships?

But all of us really want to spend our whole lives being single?

Everyone has heard the common phrase: Single but not ready to mingle. For some, it is just for the time being. Maybe, it is till the time you are well settled in your career or till the time you are ready for a commitment.

While for others, they just don’t seek companionship in the form of marriage. Instead, they would just like to be single all their life. These are the people to whom being single suddenly becomes miserable.

It happens not because you are unhappy but because of the way society perceives your single status when you reach your mid/ late 30s or even early 40s. Somehow, you would be thought of as unmarried instead of single. Unmarried has a ring of unwanted to it while single is basically your own decision of relationship status.

Why can’t people think of single women as just single instead of unmarried at an advanced age? What is wrong with being single? Why is it held against us, when men are still considered to be bachelors no matter what their age?

Women should care about these social shortcomings and ignore their narrow thinking. Being single can also be a wise decision sometime.

It's all about personal choice and perceptions. Everybody has the right to chose to stay single or committed , including women irrespective of their age.

Very true! women are so independent today so they can always chose to remain single as long as they want.. Society should not interfere in one's personal life.
