This morning I logged on to check my email for a few minutes and saw my best friend online. I hadn't seen her in a couple of weeks so I stopped to say Hi. Instantly, I got a reply, asking me to wait while she goes and feeds her pet. Now, granted, I hadn't met her in almost 15 days, but I had spoken to her on the phone or online every single day since then, and not once had she mentioned anything about getting a pet or even thinking about it! I asked her what is going on and she told me to relax, she's just tending to her ONLINE PET ON FACEBOOK!!! Can you believe that??? I couldn't!

Lately, whomever you know seems to be on Farmville. Personally, I don't see what all the hoop-la is all about. It's actually nothing but a waste of time! What in the world is it going to change if you harvest a few crops right now... besides the fact that it seems to worry people in reality when their virtual crops wither and die. What has the world come to! and where do we go from here? From growing roses and pattypan squash in an imaginary garden to raising fish and pets, owning restaurants and baking cakes, we are doing it all.

Out of curiosity, I googled more of such games and I even found one where you have to make a profile for yourself and create profiles for fictitious friends, and then "manage" a busy work and home schedule while maintaining an active virtual social life... WTF??? Where does it end? What do we gain by wasting so much of our precious time when we could be doing so many other more productive things???

Hello? Any one out there? Am I making sense???
